Struggle....

Tenafly Story, originally uploaded by szachko.
Moving from Hoboken to Tenafly is not an easy transition. We all missed those colorful life style and cherish friends. It was hitting hard on girls as well.

I really admire their courages to put up their best efforts to face this new environment, be good at school and make new friends. It is not easy, and is quite a struggle. But we are family, we are together to get through this.. Cheers! My lovely ones....

How did a place get its name..

Spring 2013, originally uploaded by szachko.
Girls were curious about how Hoboken got its name..

Daddy thought it was named after a hobo named Ken.

Following this logic, girls came to the conclusion how Tenafly got its name -- cause it gets Tons of Flys......

Competition

After Super Storm Sandy, originally uploaded by szachko.
Just moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago. Girls are still adjusting the change. I could feel the little one feel some challenge...

Z: Mom, it is so competitive here to get a best friend with someone at a new school

Mom: My little one, your friends do not know you well, yet. Once they realize how cool you are, they would all compete to be your best friend.

You could see her eyes just light up...

The 1800's (By Abby)

Untitled, originally uploaded by szachko.
" go out side" my mom said as she tried to hush my sister to sleep. I nodded slightly and walked out of the hot little log cabin. I walked toward the apothecary shop. I peered through the window. The bottle that laid just beyond the glass was a purplish color. That meant the flu was going around.

Just then, I could smell a wonderful fragrance in the air. I walked with directions from my nose towards the smell. I found myself walking towards the bakery. I could see just in front of me there was a dark wooden table in front of an old lady. The lady had Snow White hair that rested knotted over her wrinkled face. You could see a dark shadow forming under her eyes. You could tell she was getting tiered. She was using a brass ear trumpet to hear a boy who wanted to buy one of the bread that was Lying on the table. The boy was tall and thin. He had long reddish hair with freckles sprinkled over his cheeks . He was wearing a green shirt that looked rough and scratchy. He appeared to be my age.

I slowly made my way past the table and made long strides towards he bakery door. As I got inside I could feel the smell get stronger. And there, right in front of me was a loaf of bread so perfect it made the world stop and stare. Usually the bread we got was hard and stale. However, this one was P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!!!!! Without thinking I swiftly took the bread and tucked it in my sleeve. I looked to see if anyone saw, and surely enough there standing right behind me was a tall man with he same colored hair as the boy outside but this time he had a big bushy mustache and a flour covered apron.

" what do you think you're doing?" He said with a livid tone. Behind him was the boy peering from behind the mans back mouthing the words.

" run!"
